About the Doctors
Christopher Pesavento - is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist born and raised in Indiana and new to private practice. He received his training in ophthalmology in our nation's capital from the distinguished Georgetown University Hospital. In addition to Georgetown's Department of Ophthalmology, the program included rotations through the National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Prior to his ophthalmology residency, he completed a surgical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Dr. Pesavento obtained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine on a full academic scholarship from the Indiana State Medical Association, one of only two students in his class to receive this honor. While in medical school, he was active with the Glaucoma Research and Diagnostic Center and has authored and contributed to several articles and abstracts published in the peer-reviewed literature.
He received his undergraduate education from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, including a semester abroad at Lancaster University in Great Britain. In 1998, he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. While attending Wabash, Dr. Pesavento was the recipient of many honors and awards including:
- Election to Phi Beta Kappa
- Distinction on Senior Comprehensive Exams
- Wabash Honors Scholarship (1994 - 1998)
- Dean's List (1994 - 1998)
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Pesavento has taken pride in donating his time to community outreach programs such as glaucoma and vision screenings. In fact, he had the privilege to provide desperately needed cataract surgery to the underserved and indigent population of Arequipa, Peru while participating in a two-week medical mission through The Carefree Foundation. He is currently an active member of several medical organizations on both the local and national level.
He resides in the Broadripple area of Indianapolis with his wife Lara, an anesthesiologist with Anesthesia Consultants of Indianapolis. They share an avid interest in travel, scuba diving and golf.
